Great game to watch, though at times it got me fired up for the wrong reasons lol. Since I live about 150 miles from Phoenix at the edge of high wild desert and mountains, I’m forced to watch the Dbacks feed. One of their announcers said during the game, “The White Sox are definitely playing better than a 60-win team.” I think that bodes well for the near future since someone outside of the team recognizes this.

Kudos to Sean Burke for overcoming command issues and giving a solid performance!

Yahoo lists Antonacci’s homer in the box score at 266ft. As someone who didn’t watch/ listen to the game I was perplexed but suspected it was an inside the parker. So fitting for him for that to be his first home run in the bigs!

I got downvoted in one thread where the OP was saying “yall saying the team is better are stupid.”

All I said is the team has objectively improved. Winning more games than both 2024 and 2025 at the same point in the season. Look at the chart for fuck’s sake. I don’t understand how people can be made at someone for hoping. Especially when the alternative is to wallow in misery.

Obviously not and in 2023 and 2024 we had nobody beside what LRJ? Last season the second half of the year they started to play better they had a 19 win improvement. This year hopefully they have another 10+ this is how successful rebuilds work. Im not saying this one will be a success but to expect them to just somehow be a .500 team within 4 years of losing they’re entire core is just delusional.

It’s far too early to say that this team is bad. It’s too early to tell either way, actually.

They are 1 game under .500 since a terrible road trip to start the season. Thats shows some resiliency to me. And - until recently - they had stayed afloat despite playing some bad games.

They’ve swept the defending AL champs.

The won a series from the division leading A’s. Easily could have swept it.

The D’Backs are above .500.

They are winning games against good teams.

They are winning close games - the type that they lost almost every single time the last few seasons.

They would probably have an even better record but for some questionable in game managerial moves.

Venable seems to have changed the culture for the better - but I don’t think he’s the best game day manager - yet.

The bats seem to be heating up. The defense has been really good - even flashy at times.

The starting pitching is an unexpected strength.

The bullpen needs work.

If everyone continues to develop and play to their potential - the infield seems set for the foreseeable future.

The outfield is starting to play better.

Teel should be back soon.

They are far more entertaining and fun to watch than they have been in a long time.

Even Schriffen - his schtick works a lot better when the team is doing well.

The constant whining and complaining here has gotten really old…

I’ve made my views on that very clear here - I loved Jason for the first couple seasons - but I don’t want a guy who is going to miss some 20% of the season because he has more important things to do than call Sox games.

Great to see C. Montgomery not just coming out of his slump, but absolutely crushing the ball. Murakami is looking so good that the Sox probably won’t resign him, and Antonacci looks the part, putting up good ABs, even if “only” having two hits.

But honestly? I think that Vargas has impressed me the most so far this season. Not only is he also coming out of a slump to start the year, but he’s looking spectacular with the glove over at 3B, which I never saw coming. He’s got quite the accurate, fast arm, too. If he keeps developing like this, he might create a good problem to have at 3B, assuming that Bonemer is the real deal.
