If he’s back in the lineup batting second or God forbid leadoff with the knowledge that he’s not fully healthy at the plate, then I don’t know why this team would be expecting to win. I love watching Ohtani play and believe in him, but I strongly believe you gotta treat him like you would any other lefty dealing with nagging injuries and drop him in the lineup.

Well it’s not great, but I guess we kind of had a feeling about this. I do find it a little surprising they went public with this. Especially after Game 2 of the 2024 World Series when he injured his shoulder, and they pretty much kept quiet about it until everything was over. But it’s playoff time now. Baseball season is a long and grueling and there are definitely going to be players (not just on our team) who are probably going to be battling through different things here in the postseason.
