He has admittedly not had a good outing by his own high standards… simul-hitting and pitching seems to do his mindset good but I wonder whether his workload is getting too intense - or honestly whether his pitching schedule isn’t tight enough. I know sometimes long gaps between starts is actually bad for focus and feel, maybe he really does need to start more than once every seven days to not lose that, even if it means he need to take the occasional rest day on a productive game to keep himself effective.

My guess is that he was not happy with previous 4-5 pitches. They were like a foot off the plate and he knew he should’ve put the batter away 4 pitches ago.
