Been doing some thinking about the returns we got from our rebuild (namely the Crochet sell high move) and I’m astonished that the turn around was rather short all things considered.
Our crowning moment of the tank was obviously sending Crochet off to Boston and in only a year and a half, we’ve completely leap frogged them. Their farm is empty outside of a very talented Franklin Arias and they look to be in yet another spiral with overpaid and underperforming position players. They’re currently 29th in homeruns and 28th in team OPS.
This is all to say that we did not get Chris Sale’d this go around and we should all be very happy about that. Even if it meant being the worst team of the modern era.

At the end of the day, getting essentially Schwarber lite for cheap is a cheat code for any frugal org - White Sox or had Mune went to the Red Sox.

They’re the twelfth oldest team in the league and all of their top prospects are all pitchers apart from Arias. I’m quite high on Anthony, but he doesn’t project to be a very good outfielder long term with that arm of his. If the Red Sox wanna tread water with their decent staff they can, but long term they have some hard choices to make.
