It was also just an unlucky inning. That leadoff double barely stayed fair and had something like a 70mph exit velocity. Between that, his own throwing error, and Mookie’s failed catch he probably gets out of that inning with at least 1 less earned run and realistically 1-2 more innings if even one thing had gone his way. After that inning he calmed down and looked really good against what it is honestly a very good offense in the Brewers.

Totally agree with you I think I said the same thing.overall he doesn’t have issues in the first inning this just happened maybe cause he had 1 day less of rest he pitched last Sunday. He threw an error as well. He’s lowered his ERA every outing. And against a good team sometimes they’ll get hits but he limited it.
No one can say he doesn’t have mental toughness dude rattles but then locks in that’s what you want from your pitcher
His fifth inning was dominant. That 99 at the knees was a great pitch.
His strikeout on Chourio was great too sure the location was supposed to be lower but because He threw a fastball out the zone a pitch prior he fooled Chourio.
His sequencing has gotten better and I love those high out the zone fastballs with the low knees fastball eventually his scouting report will read that you can’t watch his splitter more cause he lands it in the zone and he’s dotting his fastball on the knees.

The way he did not spiral but just got back into the game was so good. One bad inning, but then the command was back, he wasn’t issuing walks, and the Brewers didn’t score again. It was really solid work.
