I honestly think he will - he’s thrown 99 a number of times this year alone, including plenty for strikes, and his shoulder and stabilizer has been the primary limiting factor - as he strengthens that for endurance and control, his max velocity he can at least threaten will increase as a matter of course.Still, he might focus on refining more pitch types before he would try and increase his average vs max velocity, which would obviously be just fine and probably even the right choice.

I just wonder what causes some pitchers to be able to slump, breakout, sustain, slump again and reinvent and some to just slide off the face of the earth never to be seen again, because some of them honestly don’t look too different at first.
