I was at a bar back in 2010 in downtown LA and went to the bathroom and it was one of those troughs - the dude next to me looks over and says “nice dick” and then keeps pissing… I got angry for some reason and wanted to fight him but didn’t since my friend was bartending… I told my friend - yo that dude over there was looking at dicks in the bathroom, I was about to punch him… and he looks me dead in the eye and said “he would have killed you, he’s one of the players on the blackhawks, they’re all here after their game against the kings” - dude looked slim and was in a ratty suit and looked all around dirty… totally would have murdered me lol

The thing is that even soccer players do not look ordinary. At least not in Europe. There is something about their limbs. They are tree trunks and longer. If you have two people at the same height, the soccer player looks taller than the normal person.
It is just a strange effect with athletes, Roki also looks comically tall, but go to the Nordics or the Netherlands and people at his height do not look that tall. Normal people are just built different - bigger heads, shorter limbs and fingers.

Years ago, my wife and I met our next door neighbors in Santa Clarita. We were doing construction in our backyard and had to give them notice/get approval. They were a very tall, polite, black couple. After we stopped chatting, my wife said, “She’s really tall! Him, too.”
Got her full name, and it turns out she’s Teiosha George, Paul George’s sister. She and her brother played basketball in my hometown. So: me -> Teiosha George -> Paul George -> LeBron -> Obama.
They don’t live there anymore. She moved out shortly before covid.

Not heading there early. Glasnow said in an interview that the Dodgers don’t want pitchers in CO unless they’re scheduled to pitch. So this is likely Roki traveling behind the team before his April 19th start earlier this year.

I’ve lived in Colorado for 30 years after moving here from LA. If they announced tomorrow that the Rockies were leaving the state and professional baseball would never return, I would be thrilled. Stadium elements to make the game more challenging is fun, environmental impacts that changes the game and results in a higher injury/recover rate, make it stupid to continue to have a team. It is a big reason why I hope Salt Lake never gets a team either.

I’ve been to Denver three times within the last year and a half. Other than being a middle aged man with questionable fitness, I don’t have any health problems that the elevation might provoke. But every time I visit, I leave wondering why anyone would willingly live there. It’s a surprisingly hostile environment.

If mlb teams could arrive to Denver two weeks before the home-stand, it’d be fine. Idk if the Rockies get the benefit though considering they’re only home for a couple of weeks at a time before they go back down lower altitudes for a few weeks.

The only one of these videos Ive seen is someone traveling through Japan on a sleeper train. Pretty chill thing to watch. interesting to see the views throughout Japan and how clean everything is. I mean, zero graffiti, no litter. Even the shower on the train seemed clean enough to use.

I remember over a decade ago I had a similar flight but with Kershaw. This was before he was super popular and they even announced it on the plane. It was flying to Denver as well (and he was on the mound the next day!).
I remember taking the shuttle and standing next to him at DEN and to this day I wish I had asked for a picture with him.

Pitchers often get to CO early to adjust to the elevation. Also, if they aren’t pitching in that series, they usually won’t travel there with the team at all.

Unless the plane loads from a door between first and coach, I would wait and board last. The couple of times I’ve been in the upgraded cabin with this setup, I didn’t feel better about sitting there while everyone walked past me. I’d rather just be in the terminal longer.
