If Ohtani wants the Cy this year he needs to routinely go deeper than 6 innings, in a 6 man rotation that amounts to a 162 inning year to literally just qualify.
I think any number of innings to end the season that starts with 16 is going to really cripple his odds at the award, and his season peak thus far has been 166 innings. If he can hit the 170 mark by sprinkling in 7 inning games and sneaking in a couple of 8 inning games here and there that should hit that mark accounting for a slight offset by potential short inning games which hopefully do not happen. 180+ innings are extremely unlikely for his designated workload and a possibly unsustainably fatiguing one also.
But sub 2 ERA, 170+ inning pitching- that might not be adequate for a unanimous bid if Skenes, Sanchez and Yamamoto are also performing to expectations, but it should win him the Cy deservingly especially because he has the narrative behind him
I personally think he should continue 2 way hitting on pitching days at his discretion, not Dave’s. In his 6 starts he’s hit on 3 and pitched on 3 - all 4 ER came on pitching days only. Not to say that he pitches better when two way, but it isn’t obvious that he’s pitching worse.

個人的には、登板日の打撃はデーブ（監督）ではなく大谷自身の判断で続けるべきだと思う。6試合の先発のうち3試合は打者としても出場したが、失点した4点はすべて登板日のみだ。二刀流の方が良い投球ができるとは言わないが、二刀流だから投球が悪くなっているという証拠もない。)
