Yeah, after the second guy got to the base, I was like, “erm maybe take him out? Doesn’t seem like tonight is his night.” And just after Joe said that he’s one of the worst hitters, there’s a home run. 😭 I really wanted Ohtani to get the W and then also, it just sucks to lose the series against the Giants. But the offense has been nonexistent the last few games. People will blame Dryer and I mean, he definitely deserves some criticism, but they’re not gonna win with 0 runs or just 1 run last game, you know?

Good points! I am just mad at Dryer because he did the same thing in Toronto when Ohtani was in position for a Win until Dryer came in and blew multiple runs. You have one inning, cmon. But agree on the non run support today. Offense needs to wake up!

Assuming a 6-man rotation for the rest of the season, he needs to average 6 innings each 23 remaining starts until the end of the season, in order to reach 162 IP minimum. I think Dodgers do eventually go to a 5-man rotation at some point, but we’ll see. As it stands right now, he has very little margin for error, but if he can pitch a few 7 inning games, that can bank him some cushion.

The competition is also tough. Sanchez has a sub 2 ERA and is likely to pitch 200 Innings. Skenes will improve as the season goes too. Can’t forget about Yoshi. Greg Maddux has seemingly fixed Elder apparently. But it is a suspect. But as of now, there is a lot of competition.
I would love to have both Yoshi and Shohei in the top 3 and hopefully one of them wins. But Shohei has to have 2022 Verlander season if he wants to win.

Such is the volatility of relievers. People forget Dreyer was one of the best bullpen arms we had and the best rookie reliever in all of baseball last year.
