None of these reasons are negatives anyways. Anyone can support any team they want for any reason. A sport having fans ranging from diehard to casual is just healthy for the sport overall. These kinds of opinions will always read as either salty or gatekeeping to me.

This is baffling to me. There are multiple generations of dodgers fans from here to Brooklyn. Like what? We aren’t some expansion team that started 30 years ago. Dodgers have a long rich history. I occasionally get that response when I tell people I’m a dodgers fan when I lived in Texas and now Boston. My grandma has had season tickets since 1975 (92 years old currently). She was going to games back when they were the Brooklyn Dodgers. I always ask if that’s fan enough for them.
