Think about it, unless there’s a distinctive mark that establishes the ball to be the 52 hr ball, there’s no way to prove it is once it leaves the sight of live streaming video or live eyewitnesses once you caught it
As soon as all live audience lose sight of it, it becomes unauthenticatable. Even if a thousand people all remember you catching it and they all come forward on your behalf, there’s no way for them to know that the ball you have is the one you caught during the game.
So unless there’s physical evidence of the ball itself that can be used to deduce that it was, you are completely out of luck. Having witnesses corroborate your story won’t matter

I think you and OP have the same misconception. The issue is not whether he caught number 52. That can be easily established.

With that evidence if you find it and the pics you have, you might be able to get a few grand out of it, but the ship to have it certified has sailed.
I have a family member who works at the stadium (LA) I have asked this question before, the ball can not be certified once it leaves the view of the camera and stadium workers. If you don’t catch it cleanly and it bounces out of view from camera and stadium workers it’s a wrap , they will not certified it. That’s why as soon as you get a HR you keep you hands and ball in view of cameras and start moving towards a stadium worker, if it’s a mile stone HR they will come to you hopping to get the ball for the player or their hall of fame.

There is a TV show in Japan ( 開運！なんでも鑑定団) where people bring stuff that they think is valuable, and a specialist checks it and gives a price. I’ve seen someone showing a bat that might have been used by some famous guy (it was fake btw), and also some Ohtani stuff. They love Ohtani, so if you contact them, I’m sure they can help.

Well the 51st ball sold for $400K and it also wasn’t considered to be a milestone. For whoever bought them assuming maybe the same person did it would be cool to own the 50th, 51, and 52 I think.

Iirc the 51st home run ball was the same game where Ohtani created the 50/50 club, so probably why it fetched so much.
Just looked it up and interestingly that ball wasn’t authenticated by MLB either, but the guy had photos/videos and a home run card from the Marlins specifically saying he caught it.
You probably knew all this but just in case others didn’t. 😄
If you can match it up convincingly, I’m sure a collector out there is willing to pay at least something for it.
Upon quick research, I see that NHK, Nippon TV (NTV), TBS, TV Asahi, and TV Tokyo are a few Japanese media that have access to Dodger Stadium.
Also if you haven’t already, check Tiktok and Insta of the game if anyone posted you catching the ball, especially if they sat near you.

Of course it CAN be authenticated. However, the question is do you have the means to have it done. It won’t be free and this ball isn’t worth life changing money…
The moment you leave the stadium without authentication it’s just a “ball with a hit mark”. Any collector willing to buy it needs hard proof backed up by authentication at minimum. Otherwise it’s just a game used baseball in the eyes of most people.
Also, the Dodgers aren’t going to give you any support this long after the event. Especially if they feel you’re just after financial gain.
