I know this one stings with how lifeless they seemed today, but at the end of the day it’s just 1 of 162. Here are some positives that make me excited for the rest of the year:

HSK is looking like an excellent 9-hole option that can hang with the best and set the table for the top of the lineup.

Shohei is really starting to get in the groove of his swing. I have a feeling leadoff bombs are on the horizon.

Tucker is putting together good at bats and hitting the ball hard. Despite tonight’s results he hit a ball over 100 mph that barely got stabbed by Sheets that probably would’ve led to runs.

Defense is looking SOLID. There were a couple weird hiccups last week but overall it seems like the overall clean defense this team plays will be a factor down the stretch.
This loss doesn’t feel great and I have lots of negative things I could focus on, but I can’t be mad at what we’ve put together so far knowing what’s in store for us in the near future. Go Dodgers!

I’m not going to doompost, because honestly negativity kills the mood and we still have 2 more games and could still win the series. Instead, let’s focus on the positives.
Ohtani still looks pretty good at the plate, recovering very nicely from his earlier slump. Freeman despite his two strikeouts got two walks and a very good challenge. Kim especially has been showing a lot of life in both yesterday’s and today’s game. Regardless of whether the Dino call was correct or a mistake, Kim showed discipline in following the coach instead of blazing past and trying to make a hero play without permission.
Our offense definitely did not wake up, and Yamamoto absolutely did not deserve to lose the game despite the score being 1-0. We still have 2 games to go, and the Angels series showed that our offense can definitely do some damage. Have some faith
