You’re also making specific assumptions about why you think Ohtani is struggling, while saying you are overreacting and new to baseball.

Hitting a baseball is hard. Even if a player’s Health, Mechanics and Timing are in sync you have a pitcher throwing a ball 97-98+ mph with movement trying to get them out. Thats why even failing 7 out of 10 times is considered a great player.

Ohtani is Ohtani because he has been elite year after year. No reason to think he won’t have another great season. Just enjoy his games and enjoy learning more about baseball. FYI, Ohtani was the best hitter in the WBC, a playoff atmosphere, with a 1.800 OPS and 3 clutch homers. So he was on fire just recently. A bad 4 game start is normal.

For perspective coming off the last WBC where Japan won, sho started off the season 4/28. Just gotta give guys time to settle in. I mean, does anyone really think judge is gonna bat .120? No he has not lost his swing, got fat, or anything else. Baseball players can be streaky and Sho is no exception. Sho can have stretches where he looks human and even struggle at the plate, but then he will go on a streak where he starts demolishing the record books.

He was able to come out of the red gate red hot in Japan and Seoul the year before, but he slowed down once he got back to LA. He usually doesn’t put his multi-hit games together until a week or so into April. (大丈夫だよ、ホームで何試合かやれば調子上がってくる。去年は日本とソウルのシリーズでは赤いゲートから出てきていきなり絶好調だったけど、LAに戻ってきたら少し落ちた。4月中旬くらいまでは複数安打の試合をまとめることが少ない傾向がある。)
