彼は7月にリハビリ出場を始めてから全く休んでいないと思う。オールスターブレイク前に急いで復帰したし、ハムストリングの後遺症がないとしても単に疲労が溜まっているんじゃないかな。地区優勝を決めなきゃいけないのは分かるが、ポストシーズン前に数日休養させるか完全なDH起用にする必要がある。シーズン最後の数週間に向けて調子を取り戻させることが何より重要だ。
I don’t think he’s gotten any rest since he started his rehab assignment in July. I think he rushed to get back before the ASB and if there aren’t lingering effects from the hammy, he might just be tired. I know we have a division to clinch, but at some point he needs a few rest days or pure DH games before the post season. Getting him right before the last couple weeks of the season would be huge.

Yeah The Book by Tom Tango agrees that lineup construction doesn’t really matter over the course of the season. You could essentially put your batters in order by OPS or wRC+ 1-9 and come to just as good a lineup as the modern “optimized” lineup which is best hitters 1,2,4 with better OBP towards the top. However, this could be an argument for putting Mune down in the order since it doesn’t really have a huge effect on the offense scoring either way. Kinda related but I also think fans don’t realize that MLB teams are looking almost exclusively at splits when making their lineups. I keep seeing people say that Grichuk should start everyday because his numbers since the ASB have been great. They have been great but those numbers are nearly all vs LHP and his numbers vs RHP are still shit. Unfortunately for Grichuk we’re in the midst of a 2 week drought of not going vs a LHP
