地区首位なのは結構だが、ワイルドカードシリーズ免除のシード権に値するかと言われれば微妙だ。確かに過去2シーズンで大量の試合をこなしてきたし、燃え尽き症候群や休養の重要性も理解できる。しかし打線があまりに酷すぎる。プレーオフ進出圏内のチーム相手には2点以上取れず、借金を抱えるチームばかりを叩いている状態だ。今後の試金石としてブレーブス戦を楽しみにしていたが、クリス・セールに手も足も出ず、スコットのキムに対するミスも目も当てられなかった。得点圏に走者を残し、四球を選べず、ボール球を追いかけ、スモールボールをやらずに一発ばかりを狙い、ビハインドの場面で盗塁を仕掛けないなど、集中力が欠けているようにしか見えない。プレーオフに向けて温存しているのかもしれないが、それにしても失速ぶりは深刻だし、ポストシーズンは目前に迫っている。かなり厳しい状況になってきたよ😅
The division lead is one thing, do i think they deserve time off from the first round. Sure they played a lot of games from the last two seasons. I understand the burn out, and how time off is a good thing. But the offense stinks, they can’t manufacture more than two runs against the playoff bound teams and crush teams below .500 mark. I was looking forward to the Braves matchup it’s a good measuring stick going forward. But man we looked silly against Chris sale, and the blunder by Scott against Kim was embarrassing. Let’s not forget…..Leaving runners in scoring positions to not manufacturing walks, to chasing balls outside the zone, to head hunt what seems like only home runs only not playing small ball, to not stealing second when chasing runs just seems like the attention isn’t there. Maybe they’re saving it for the playoffs who knows but man. The drop off is real and we’re so close to the playoffs. It’s getting ugly out here 😅

Ohtani is 32 as of 2026, the last time he had almost a full season of pitching plus hitting is 2023 (when he was 29) when he concluded the season with 44 hr and 132 innings. Now this is a hot take but I just don’t see how his body can hold up another year like 2023 in 2027, when he is turning 33. We can basically say that his two way players status is inching closer to a conclusion. Barry Bonds was spot on when he said Ohtani should just focus on batting… with an aging line up I believe his bat is more valuable to the team as a whole. What a bummer that angels wasted his peak time as a two way player.
