We have the 2nd best record in baseball, anyone complaining needs a reality check. Look at the Blue Jays and Mariners last year, they thought it was dawn of a new day and they suck. Or the Mets with their huge payroll. Doc and the Dodgers know how to motivate their players and keep us as a team. It doesn’t always work out in regular season or the playoffs, but I am grateful to be playing meaningful baseball in September and October every year.

The Dodgers have one major problem no one has addressed. They have stopped hitting HR’s. They won last year’s series with the HR. Freddy, Shohei, Muncy(may be the only one who still can hit one), Teoscar. The power outage is real. The only reason they are winning now is because they still have great pitching. Skubal, Yoshi, Snell, Glasnow, with Ohtani and maybe Wrobo coming back online soon. When you are swept by Detroit losing by 1 run each game with multiple chances rbi’s that came to naught. Yeah, they got problems and they are not going away in the coming years.

Pretty on par for this sub. Remember last year people on this sub wanted to DFA and get rid of Freddie, Mookie, Miggy Ro, Teo, Kike, Muncy, etc., pretty much the entire team at various times throughout the year.

I got into baseball in 2024 because my girlfriend is a diehard Dodger fan. I didn’t even know any rules or anything about baseball before then. It was a crazy time to get in with the back to back World Series run, but this team will be special to me because it brought her and I together. Through good or bad this is the team I’ll be telling our kids about.

I’ve bled Blue since ‘77 season World Series rematch vs Reggie Jackson’s Yankees when I was 8 years old in Newhall (Santa Clarita). 1981 revenge was so sweet. We’ve been living the dream for 9 years now. Winning the World Series is fuckn hard, we barely, barely, barely won last year. We’ll hopefully be at full strength in October and I’ll probably die of heart attack every playoff series just like every year. Go Blue. FTG. More Mookie!

My main concern for the future is that they could be saddled with bad contracts. Teo has 2 more years (correction: 1 more year), Tucker 3 more years, and Mookie 6 more years. hard to know what will happen with Smith, but he has 7 more years on his contract. All of this, together with a possible salary cap, could really hinder our ability to retool. The good news to me is we still have one of the greatest starting pitching rotations of all time, so if most of these guys are healthy in the playoffs, we should have an ace on the mound every game this postseason and guys like Sasaki, Glasnow, and Wrobo shoring up the bullpen. So we may end up with a lot of games like today (2-1 wins). And Sasaki, Yama, Wrobo, and Stone are all relatively young

It’s true. This has been and still is, an iconic run. One for the halls of baseball all time. I still believe they have one more in them though. I love this team through the bottom of my heart. Our bullpen won’t be an issue in playoffs. It will be all hands on deck. Snell. Ohtani. Glasnow. Yamamoto. Whoever is needed will come in. If Scott can’t get it done, we can survive. Also, our team has been injured all year long (like many teams), and it’s hard to find a groove that way. I think playoffs bring out the best in players, and that’s where our players shine. I suspect next year’s roster will be a bit different than this one. But you are 100% correct, enjoy the gang while we have them. I know Teoscar is a liability in field, but his smile is infectious in clubhouse and you cannot underrate his and Kiki’smojo.

I do cherish this team, but I will still cherish our future playoff runs even though they might not make it far. I don’t think the lower years will be that bad. I’ve been a fan since 2020, but I will also realize at points during our years we might not even make the Postseason lol. I know that I’ll be a Dodger fan for life, and there will be another team sometime in the future that can be cherished maybe as much as this one.

素晴らしい投稿だ。本当にフレディ、ムーキー、テオ、キケ、マックス、大谷翔平、みんな大好きなんだ。みんな人格者で素晴らしい選手たちばかりだが、ここ数ヶ月は精彩を欠いていて疲れて動きも重く見える。時は流れ、スピードや運動能力、技術の避けられない衰えが迫っている、あるいはすでに来ているのだと痛感させられるよ。ファーストにフレディがいない姿なんて見たくもない。70年代後半からドジャースファンで全員を愛しているが、フレディは本当に一流の紳士で、大好きな（そして唯一の）チームにいてくれることが純粋な喜びなんだ。昨日の試合を見ていてイライラしていた時、フレディがバットを折って新しいバットを取りに行き、打席に戻る時に満面の笑みを浮かべていた。連敗中、接戦、それでもあのビッグスマイルだ。一瞬で救われた気分になったよ。完全に彼に惚れ込んでいるね。ムーキーも大好きだし、彼らのことが本当に愛おしい。いずれにせよ、ビジネスの側面から若いグループが必要とされる日は必ずやってくる。それは厳然たる事実だ。だからこそ、この数ヶ月間の試合を見るのが余計に辛いのかもしれない。もう1回優勝したいという私の強欲さかもしれないが、彼らが苦しみ、ゴミのような打席、あっという間に追い込まれる0-2のカウント、3-1から三振や凡打に終わる場面を見るのは胸が痛むよ。とにかくみんな、スレ主のアドバイスに従って彼らを大切にしよう。今まで本当に恵まれていたんだから。
Great post, Yea, love these guys, Freddie, Mookie, Teo, Kike, Max, Sho,. All seem like super good people and great ballplayers, and yea, last couple months they havent looked great, they look tired and slow. Makes you realize that time keeps ticking and the inevitable diminishing speed, athleticism, and skills is coming up. if not already here I dont want to ever not see Freddie at first. I have been a Dodger fan since the late 70s and I love em all, but man, Freddie is just such a class act and such a pleasure to have on my fav (and only) team. I was pissed watching the game yesterday and Freddie broke a bat and went to get a new one and when he turned back to the plate he had his smile going, losing streak, close game and yet that big smile. Made me instantly feel better. I certainly have a man crush on that guy. Love Mookie too, absolutely love those guys. Anyhow, the day will come when the business part of the game requires a younger group. Just simple fact. So, maybe that makes these last couple months just so much harder to watch, Maybe I am greedy and want another champ, but it hurts to see them struggle and see some of the garbage at bats, the almost immediate 0-2 counts, the 3-1 counts that turn in strike outs or weak hit. painful. anyhow peeps, take the OP’s advice and cherish these guys, what a blessing its been.
実に見事な意見だ。私は人生で初めて生観戦したスポーツの試合（64年に親父に連れられて見たサンディ・コーファックスのカージナルス戦）以来の熱烈なファンだ。当時6歳だったから詳細は覚えていないが、振り返ってみれば開幕戦だったのかもしれない。火曜日だったから親父が学校を休ませて連れて行ってくれたんだろう。とにかく、それ以来ずっとドジャーブルーの血が流れている。栄光も挫折も、勝利も敗北も、そして最高の専属アナウンサーたちも見てきた。球団経営も浮き沈みがあったが概ね素晴らしいし、現場の采配もメジャーの他球団から見れば羨望の的だ。今のチームはラソーダ、ガービー、セイ、ラッセル、ロペスらの時代や、フェルナンド・マニア、ギブソンやオーレル・ハーシュハイザーの時代を彷彿とさせる。私たちは全員ドジャースであり、史上最高の組織を応援する史上最高のファンなんだ！もちろん多少の贔屓目はあるけどね！
Very well said. I have been avid since my first live game ever (of ANY sport). Dad took me to see Sandy Koufax pitch against the Cardinals in ‘64. I was 6 so I don’t remember the particulars but looking back, it may have been opening day. That was a Tuesday and I could see Dad taking me out of school to be at a possible “Businessman’s special”. Anyway - I have been bleeding Dodger blue ever since. Ups, Downs, Wins, Losses, The BEST announcer(s). Management has been up and down…mostly up. Field management has been for the most part enviable to the rest MLB. This team harkens to the Lasorda, Garvey, Cey, Russell, Lopes et al era. Fernando mania. Gibby and Orel. We are all Dodgers and we are the greatest fans ever rooting for the greatest organization ever! Of course I am a bit biased!

ドジャースファン歴50年になる東海岸在住の者だ。90年代後半に本拠地で観戦できる唯一のチャンスがあったが、ストライキで残りのシーズンが中止になってしまった。上記で語られている様々な要因や迫り来るロックアウトの懸念もあるから、今行くしかないと決意したよ。だから来週末、国を横断してドジャース尽くしの週末を過ごす旅に出る。金曜の夜は最上段席を取ってスタジアム内を散策して雰囲気を満喫し、土曜はスタジアムツアーの後にライトスタンド（ホームランボールをキャッチしたい）へ、そして日曜の夜は奮発して1階席で見る予定だ。ドジャー・スタジアム（チャベス・ラビーン）で観戦できる生涯唯一の機会だと思って楽しむつもりだ。待ちきれないよ！
I have been a Dodger fan going on 50 years. I live on the East Coast. The one opportunity I had to see the Dodgers at home in the late 90’s and a strike cancelled the rest of that season. Because of all the factors described above and the looming lockout, I decided I better go now. So next weekend I am making a cross-country trip for an all Dodger weekend. Tickets in the nose bleeds Friday night to wander the stadium and soak it in. Saturday is a stadium tour and then seats in RF (hoping to catch a HR) then Sunday night splurging in the lower level. I’m treating this like the only time I’ll ever see a game in Chavez Ravine. I can’t wait!

We have great kids on the way, but it will be tough but necessary. Along with Miggy, I think Teo, Treinen, and Keeke are done this season. We need to get younger.
長くファンをやっていて、65年のワールドシリーズでコーファックスを見たよ。どの年代のドジャースも愛してきたが、すべてのチームが好きだったわけではない。選手は来ては去っていく、それがこの競技の本質だ。今のチームは特別だし、永遠に続くものなどないのだから、続いているうちに楽しむつもりだよ。
I’ve been around a while saw Koufax in the 65 WS. I’ve loved every Dodger team but haven’t liked every one. Players come and go that’s the nature of the game. This team is special and I’m going to enjoy it while it lasts, cuz nothing last forever.
