朗希は元々これくらいの速さで投げられたんだよ。過去にも何度も100マイル以上を記録している。今はメカニクスと制球が良くなっただけだし、これが定着してくれることを願うよ。
Roki was always able to throw this fast. He’s thrown 100+ in the past multiple times. Now he just has better mechanics and control, and hopefully it sticks
朗希はNPB時代から（平均して）もっと速い球を投げていたけど、メカニクスの不調でMLBでは同じ成功を収められずにいたんだ。NPBでの最後のシーズンもそれが問題だった。私の推測では、球速が上がったのはメカニクスが微調整されたからで、オールスター期間の休息も助けになったんじゃないかな。
Roki has always pitched wayyy harder (on average) in the NPB but had never found the same succes in the MLB due to his mechanics failing him, which was his problem in his last NPB season My guess is that the uptick in velo is because his mechanics have been dialed in and the extra rest from the allstar festivities might have also helped.

He always was able to throw 100 mph. The issue was the shape and control of his fastball. They have been working with him on that by having him dialing down the fastball speed in favor of accuracy. Seems like Prior decided that he has seen enough progress to have Roki pick back up the speed.

Probably extra rest has some effect on it. Roki was used to have more day off in NPB (which many in Japanese sports media still blame as the source of his “failure”)
