The problem is that if he starts Games 1 and 5 of the DS, he likely wouldn’t start until Game 4 of the LCS because of his customary rest schedule (which is exactly what happened in 2024). Skubal is capable of pitching on four days of rest. If he starts Game 1 of the DS, we could potentially have seven Skubal/Yamamoto starts through the LCS instead of six.
