どうやら今週は佐々木朗希のお母さんが来ているらしい。残念ながら、例のあの人のせいで息子が勝ち投手になるところは見られなかった。それに朗希は体調も悪そうだった。そんな中で昨夜、いつものようなキレがない状態でも6回を投げてQSを達成した姿を見て、プレーオフで良い貢献をしてくれると強く期待している。
Apparently roki’s mom is here this week. Unfortunately she didn’t get to see her son win a ball game because of you know who. And it seems roki is under the weather too. So last night seeing him battle to give us 6 innings and a QS even though he wasn’t as sharp as he has been in recent games gives me high hopes he will contribute in a positive way to our playoff run.

One bad game where he didn’t had command is all okay, 6 innings 2 ER is solid. The trend as been positive post the all Star break for sure. Sad for roki’s mom but her son is a superstar in making, so hopefully many for great things to come.

いや、ディアスだってベストを尽くしていたはずだ。誰かを責めるなら、ディアスの不調が明らかなのに介入せず交代させなかったデーブ（監督）を責めるべきだよ。4者連続安打を許してリードを失ったんだ、突然のホームランとかじゃない。デーブがディアスの不調を見抜き、打者との勝負で負けていると判断して、失点する前に交代させる時間は十分にあったはずだ。重要な試合でディアスを試すようなことをせずスコットを使うか、8回最後の打者にスコットを出さず、ディアスが崩れた時の保険として残しておくこともできた。ディアスの投球が酷かったのは事実だけど、彼が全力を尽くしていなかったとは思えない。一方でデーブは勝利のためにできる限りのことをしたとは思えないから、この敗戦の責任はディアスよりもデーブにあると思う。
I mean, Diaz was trying his best so, if we’re gonna say fuck anyone, it’s really fuck Dave for not intervening and yanking Diaz when it was clear that he didn’t have it. Remember, he gave up 4 consecutive singles to lose the lead, it wasn’t a sudden home run or anything. There was plenty of time for Dave to have seen that Diaz didn’t have his stuff and was losing the battles with hitters, pull him, and go another direction before we had even lost a run. He could have also simply not done the Diaz experiment in such an important game and used Scott or he could’ve not brought Scott out for the last out of the 8th and saved him to use as a safety net for a Diaz meltdown. I’m just saying Diaz didn’t perform well, but I think it’s highly unlikely he wasn’t doing his absolute best to try to get the job done. On the other hand, I don’t think Dave did everything he could have to stop the bleeding and get the win so the loss falls on Dave’s shoulders more than Diaz’s for me.
私もディアスの投球内容には腹を立てているけど、彼がベストを尽くしていないなんて言うつもりはない。負けたい選手なんていないからね。今の彼に力がないのは明らかだし、デーブはこういう場面で彼を使うのをやめるべきだ。監督の考えも理解はできるけど、実験的な起用で勝てる試合を落とし続けるわけにはいかない。
I am mad at diaz too because of his performance but I would never say that he wasn’t trying his best, no player wants to lose. He clearly doesn’t have it at the moment and Dave needs to stop using him in these moments. I can understand Dave’s thinking aswell but we clearly cannot keep on losing such winnable games because of some experiments.
